Flying In
Three major airports serve the DC area. We recommend DCA for the easiest arrival.
RecommendedBest for convenience. Closest to downtown and directly on the Metro Blue/Yellow line.

Best for international flights and wider carrier options.
Metro: Silver line from Dulles to downtown, ~55 min.

Best for budget travelers — Southwest and Spirit routes.
MARC/Amtrak train from BWI Rail Station to Union Station, ~35 min.

Book early — DC hotels fill up quickly for major weekend events. All options below are walking distance to the National Mall.

Getting Around DC

Metro
The DC Metro is the fastest way to get around. For the Lincoln Memorial, use the Foggy Bottom–GWU station (Blue/Orange/Silver line), about a 10-minute walk. Smithsonian station also works.

Walking
Most Mall-area hotels are within a 10–20 minute walk of the Lincoln Memorial. DC is one of the most walkable capitals in the world — comfortable shoes recommended.

Rideshare
Uber and Lyft are widely available. Expect surge pricing around the event window. There's a designated rideshare pickup area near the Mall.
